Meet Sharon Langfeldt!
Sharon Langfeldt is a photographer, retired UMC minister, and an activist in the LGBTQ2S+ community in Colorado.
After getting in on the ground floor of the early days of “high tech,” Sharon spent several decades working as an engineer and technical manager for a variety of companies, such as Digital Equipment, Sun Microsystems and IBM. After that robust and fun run, Sharon retired to follow her life-long dream of attending The Iliff School of Theology. Graduating in 2015 with an MDIV, Sharon became an ordained minister in the United Methodist Church in 2018, proving that “homosexuality is [INDEED!] compatible with Christian teaching.” Since ordination, Sharon has served churches in the Mountain Sky Conference, including Rawlins Cooperative Parish in Wyoming and Christ Church United Methodist in Denver.
According to her wife, Rev. Gina Harvey, Sharon is failing retirement, filling pulpits as a guest preacher across the front range of Colorado, and into Wyoming. Sharon also serves as a part time pastor for Mayflower Congregational UCC Church in Englewood. When NOT failing at retirement, Sharon has managed to reconnect with her love of photography, and will part of an upcoming show in Durango, CO. Sharon is also working on a project entitled “Queering the Call,” interviewing and photographing queer/LGBT faith leaders. Sharon and Gina have two adult children, Jimi and Jonah, two dogs and two cats.

I loved this podcast. ”Just love them” quote was brilliant. The wooden box and the conversation that followed was great. I loved how individual and group community is SO IMPORTANT! I wonder if their book is out. I will check it out. This was such a beautiful conversation conversation
